Best email marketing software: the shortlist and its prices
For a creator or small business that wants automations, signup forms and landing pages, MailerLite is the pick among seven platforms: its Free plan covers up to 250 subscribers, and Comfort is $19 a month, billed monthly, at 1,000 subscribers. Kit (formerly ConvertKit) is the pick for a free list of up to 10,000 subscribers, and Brevo for paying by emails sent.
Rows run from the lowest price to the highest, in US dollars, on yearly billing near 1,000 contacts where the page shows it: Mailchimp shows monthly billing only, Brevo prices by emails sent, and Constant Contact by contacts and sends, so compare at your own list size.

MailerLite suits a creator or small business that wants automations, which are emails that send on their own after a trigger such as a signup, plus forms and landing pages on one account. Comfort is $19 a month, billed monthly, or $17.10 a month, billed yearly ($205.20 a year), at 1,000 subscribers, with 3 seats and 50 automations. Power is $39 a month, billed monthly, with unlimited seats.
The limit: past 250 subscribers on Free, sending pauses until you upgrade or cut the list. The MailerLite review covers each plan; MailerLite's 14-day trial of premium features asks for no card.
Mailchimp suits a team that wants a set number of seats: Essentials has 3 and Standard has 5. At 501 to 1,500 contacts, Essentials is $26.50 a month and Standard $45 a month, both on monthly billing, the only basis its page shows at that size. Overages apply if the contact or email send limit is exceeded. For team size, see best email marketing software for small business.
Creators and newsletters: Kit and beehiiv
Kit suits a creator with a large free list. Its Free plan covers up to 10,000 subscribers, with unlimited landing pages, forms and broadcasts, but no visual automations. Creator is $39 a month, billed monthly, or $33 a month, billed yearly ($390 a year), at 1,000 subscribers, and Kit lists free migrations on paid plans. Free email marketing software compares six free plans.
beehiiv suits a newsletter that expects to grow. Free covers up to 2,500 subscribers, Lite holds up to 100,000 and Pro up to 250,000. At 1,000 subscribers Lite is $59 a month on monthly billing, or $49 a month on yearly billing. Its Lite and Pro cards offer a free trial with no card, and the page does not show how long it runs.
Sending-based and guarantee-backed: Brevo and Constant Contact
Brevo suits a sender whose number of emails, not list size, drives the bill. Starter is $9 a month, billed monthly, or $8.08 a month, billed yearly, from 5,000 emails a month. Its Free plan, which Brevo calls "free forever", needs no card and sends up to 300 emails a day after Brevo approves the account.
Constant Contact suits a buyer who wants a refund guarantee, which its pricing page sets at 30 days on every new plan. Lite is listed as "starting at $12/month" on monthly billing, and the plan price is based on contacts and email sends, with overage fees possible. There is no free plan.
ActiveCampaign: plans, users and automation limits
ActiveCampaign suits a team that needs several logins: Pro has 3 users and Enterprise 5, against 1 on Plus. At 1,000 contacts its page shows Starter at $15, Plus $49, Pro $79 and Enterprise $145 a month, billed annually; it offers no monthly-billing choice. Starter caps each automation at 5 actions, and there is no free plan. New accounts get a 14-day trial with email sign-up.
How this list was built
Every price comes from the vendor's own pricing page, read in US dollars on October 6, 2026, with each billing toggle pressed where the page has one. No account was opened, so features appear as the vendors document them. GetResponse is left out because its page prints no dollar price. For other options, see MailerLite alternatives.
