Free plans: Kit up to 10,000 subscribers, Omnisend 250 contacts

Kit's free plan covers up to 10,000 subscribers with unlimited landing pages, forms and broadcasts, though its visual automations are on the paid plans. Omnisend's free plan covers 250 contacts and 500 emails a month, against MailerLite Free's 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month.

Brevo's free plan allows up to 300 emails a day after the account is approved for sending. Flodesk's free plan builds forms and landing pages but sends no email. Mailchimp's free plan covers lists under 250 contacts, and its sends stop at 500 a month or 250 a day.

Different ways to pay: Brevo, Moosend and Constant Contact

Brevo prices by the number of emails you send a month, not by contacts. Starter is $9 a month, billed monthly, from 5,000 emails a month, or $8.08 a month, billed yearly. Higher sending volumes cost more.

Moosend Pro prices by contacts: $16 a month, billed monthly, at 1,000 contacts, with 5 team members, against MailerLite Comfort's $19 a month, billed monthly, and 3 seats. Moosend has no free plan, its pricing page offers a 30-day free trial of core features, and the page says Moosend is now a Constant Contact company. MailerLite vs Moosend and MailerLite vs Brevo take each in turn.

Constant Contact Lite starts at $12 a month, billed monthly, and sends 10 times the contact count each month. Its pricing page says the plan price is based on contacts and email sends, and overage fees may apply. It is the one alternative in the table with a stated money-back guarantee, 30 days on new plans, where MailerLite refunds no unused time. It has no free plan.

Creator tools: Kit and Flodesk

Kit Creator is $39 a month, billed monthly, or $33 a month, billed yearly ($390 a year), at 1,000 subscribers, against MailerLite Comfort at $19 a month, billed monthly, for the same count. Kit's pricing page lists free migrations for paid plans. MailerLite vs Kit compares the two plan by plan.

Flodesk Lite is $25 a month, billed monthly, or $19 a month, billed annually, at 1,000 subscribers. Unlimited workflow automations start on Pro, $28 a month, billed monthly, which includes 1 checkout. Its top plan is $54 a month, billed monthly, with unlimited checkouts.

Mailchimp and Omnisend: prices by contact band

Mailchimp prices by contact band. At up to 500 contacts, Essentials is $13 and Standard $20 a month, billed monthly, against MailerLite Comfort at $12 a month, billed monthly, at 500 subscribers. At 501 to 1,500 contacts they are $26.50 and $45. Standard has 5 seats against Comfort's 3, but Mailchimp's 14-day trial can send only 100 emails before a card is saved, where MailerLite's trial allows 2,500. MailerLite vs Mailchimp has the full comparison.

Omnisend Standard is $20 a month, billed monthly, at 501 to 1,000 contacts with 12,000 emails a month, and Omnisend Pro has unlimited emails. Omnisend lists a 5-day free migration. MailerLite Comfort at 1,000 subscribers is $19 a month, billed monthly, with 10,000 emails.

  • Kit for a free list above 250 subscribers, up to 10,000. One limit: visual automations are on the paid plans.
  • Brevo for a sender who wants the price set by emails sent, not by contacts. One limit: the price rises with each volume step.
  • Constant Contact for a buyer who wants a 30-day money-back guarantee. One limit: no free plan, and the price follows contacts and sends.
  • Mailchimp for a team that needs 5 seats on Standard. One limit: its trial can send only 100 emails before a card is saved.
  • Moosend for 5 team members on Pro and a 30-day trial. One limit: no free plan.

Stay with MailerLite when the Free plan, or Comfort at $19 a month, billed monthly, at 1,000 subscribers, covers your automations, forms and pages. Mailchimp, Kit and Moosend price by list size while Brevo charges by emails sent, so compare each at your own list size and sending volume. MailerLite itself offers 14 days of premium features with no credit card required, so its trial can sit beside a rival's before you pay.
