MailerLite vs Brevo: subscriber pricing or email pricing

Last reviewed October 6, 2026

Quick answerMailerLite prices by subscribers, Brevo by emails sent. Pick Brevo if your list is large but you mail it rarely, since Starter at $9 a month is priced from 5,000 emails, not by contacts.

MailerLite vs Brevo: how each sets its price

MailerLite prices by active subscribers, meaning unique email addresses with the Active status, and Brevo prices by emails sent. MailerLite Comfort is $12 a month billed monthly at 500 subscribers, and it sends 10 times the tier a month, which is 5,000 emails at that tier. Brevo Starter is $9 a month billed monthly from 5,000 emails, as read on October 6, 2026.

Both vendors take 10% off yearly billing. On MailerLite, every address that was Active at any point in the billing cycle counts toward the tier, even one deleted later, and a paid account that outgrows its tier or its monthly emails is upgraded and the card on file is charged. Both vendors also sell a custom Enterprise tier; MailerLite's is for 200K+ subscribers.

Which plan to compare at your list size and send volume

Start with sends: one email to one subscriber is one send. Four weekly campaigns to 1,000 subscribers make about 4,000 sends a month, inside Comfort's 10,000 at the 1,000 tier and below Brevo Starter's 5,000 starting point.

MailerLite's ladder, billed monthly, runs from Comfort at $12 for 500 subscribers and 5,000 emails to $19 for 1,000 and 10,000, $33 for 2,500 and 25,000, $49 for 5,000 and 50,000, and $89 for 10,000 and 100,000. MailerLite pricing has the yearly figures.

A WooCommerce store owner who wants abandoned-cart and purchase follow-up emails sends when shoppers act, so on Brevo the number of emails sets the bill, while on MailerLite the list size does. MailerLite's pricing grid lists e-commerce triggers on every plan. Brevo's prices above 5,000 emails a month were not read for this guide, so price a larger volume on Brevo's own page.

Free plans and account approval on both

MailerLite's Free plan covers up to 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month, and the allowance resets monthly. Brevo's free plan needs no credit card, and Brevo calls it free forever; it sends up to 300 emails a day once Brevo approves the account for sending.

Free limits can change: MailerLite's Terms of Use let it modify plan limits, and it cut its Free plan from 500 subscribers and 12,000 emails to 250 and 2,500 on June 16, 2026. MailerLite also reviews accounts before sending, so on either free plan, sending starts after a review rather than at sign-up. Free email marketing software compares more free plans.

Who should pick Brevo

Pick Brevo if your list is large but you mail it rarely, since Starter is priced from 5,000 emails and not by contacts. Pick MailerLite if you send often to a list of up to 1,000: Comfort at 1,000 subscribers is $19 a month billed monthly, with 10,000 emails, 50 automations and 10 signup forms, and Power makes all three unlimited at $39.
