Cheapest email marketing platform: six plans near 1,000 contacts

The cheapest email marketing platform in this table is Brevo Starter at $9 a month, billed monthly, but Brevo prices by emails sent, not contacts. Among plans priced by list size, the cheapest email marketing software here is Moosend Pro at $16 a month for 1,000 contacts, then MailerLite Comfort at $19 a month for up to 1,000 subscribers, both billed monthly.

Each price is for monthly billing near 1,000 contacts, and Brevo's is set by emails. Constant Contact Lite is listed as "starting at $12/month", but its price near 1,000 contacts is not shown, so it is not in the table.

Brevo Starter is $9 a month, billed monthly, or $8.08 a month, billed yearly, from 5,000 emails a month. Its page shows no contact-based price, so a large list mailed rarely can sit on the same plan as a small list mailed often. Brevo Free sends up to 300 emails a day after approval. Moosend says it is now a Constant Contact company. Pro is $16 a month on monthly billing at 1,000 contacts and $13 a month on its annual option, with no free plan. Its pricing page says: "Try core features with a 30-day free trial, no credit card required."

MailerLite Comfort sends 10,000 emails a month at 1,000 subscribers, and Omnisend Standard 12,000 at 501 to 1,000 contacts. Flodesk Lite limits workflow automations, while Pro, $28 a month billed monthly, has unlimited ones. Mailchimp Essentials includes 3 seats.

What raises the bill as the list grows

On MailerLite, a paid account over its subscriber or monthly email limit moves up a tier and the card on file is charged; auto-upgrade can be switched off, and overage fees may then apply. A deleted active address still counts until the billing cycle ends. MailerLite's yearly billing takes 10% off, and its prices may be subject to applicable taxes. MailerLite pricing lists each tier. Mailchimp and Constant Contact state that overages apply, and Moosend bills a repeated address once.

MailerLite Free covers up to 250 subscribers and Mailchimp Free under 250 contacts, both at $0, and Kit (formerly ConvertKit) Free is free up to 10,000 subscribers.
